Nile cruise: Luxor to Aswan, four nights

Four nights, five temples, and the only sensible way to see the river towns.

4 nights Private Licensed guide No deposit Cancel any time, free

What this is

The standard southbound route, and the direction we prefer because you finish in Aswan rather than starting there. Five-star boats on this stretch are genuinely comfortable and the sailing days are the point: Egypt goes past at walking pace. Temples are visited in a group with the boat's guide unless you take the private option.

Highlights

  • Karnak and Luxor Temple before boarding
  • Esna lock, usually at night
  • Edfu by horse carriage from the mooring
  • Kom Ombo on the riverbank at sunset
  • Philae and the High Dam at Aswan
  • A felucca sail at sunset in Aswan Optional · extra charge
  • Abu Simbel as a pre-dawn run before your flight Optional · extra charge

Items marked optional are not in the price. Tell us which you want and we will quote them in writing before the trip.

Good to know

  • Wear closed-toe shoes; most sites are sand, gravel and uneven stone.
  • Summer temperatures in Upper Egypt regularly exceed 40C. We start early for a reason.
  • Bring your passport - several sites check ID at the gate.
  • Photography is free at most sites; interior tomb photography sometimes carries a separate ticket.
  • Boats moor alongside each other at busy ports and you may walk through two other vessels to reach the bank. It is normal and perfectly safe.
  • Water levels close the Esna lock for maintenance in some winter weeks, which can change the schedule. We will tell you if your dates are affected.

Questions

How do I book?

Send us the dates and how many people are travelling, by WhatsApp or the form on this page. We reply with a written itinerary and a fixed price, usually within a few hours. Confirming is a message, not a payment.

Are the hotels and flights included?

Everything listed under what is included is booked and paid by us as part of the package. We hold the reservations; you owe nothing until you arrive in Egypt.

Do you take a deposit?

No. We ask for no deposit and take no payment to hold a date. Nothing is charged when you book and nothing is payable in advance - you settle with us in Egypt once the trip is running.

What if I need to change or cancel?

Tell us and we will change it, or cancel it, at no cost. There is no cancellation fee and no deadline to worry about, because nothing has been paid up front. If plans shift while you are already here, we will rearrange what we can on the day.

Is Egypt safe for solo and female travellers?

The tourist regions are heavily policed and we work in them daily. Your guide stays with you at every site. If you are travelling alone, tell us - we will match you with a guide accordingly.
