A dahabiya is a two-masted sailing boat carrying eight to twelve guests, towed only when the wind fails. It moors on sandbanks and at villages the cruisers cannot use, and the pace is genuinely slow. It costs roughly twice a standard cruise and it is a completely different experience of the river.
Transfer from Luxor and board after lunch. Through the lock and moor for the first night on a sandbank.
Sail to El Kab for the rock tombs and the Nekhbet temple enclosure, rarely visited from the water.
Morning sail to Edfu and the Temple of Horus early, before the cruise boats arrive.
The sandstone quarries that built most of Upper Egypt, and the rock-cut Speos of Horemheb.
Kom Ombo in the morning, then the final sail towards Aswan with a mooring below the desert.
Arrive and disembark after breakfast.
Send us the dates and how many people are travelling, by WhatsApp or the form on this page. We reply with a written itinerary and a fixed price, usually within a few hours. Confirming is a message, not a payment.
Everything listed under what is included is booked and paid by us as part of the package. We hold the reservations; you owe nothing until you arrive in Egypt.
No. We ask for no deposit and take no payment to hold a date. Nothing is charged when you book and nothing is payable in advance - you settle with us in Egypt once the trip is running.
Tell us and we will change it, or cancel it, at no cost. There is no cancellation fee and no deadline to worry about, because nothing has been paid up front. If plans shift while you are already here, we will rearrange what we can on the day.
The tourist regions are heavily policed and we work in them daily. Your guide stays with you at every site. If you are travelling alone, tell us - we will match you with a guide accordingly.
