Pharaoh's Island sits a few hundred metres offshore near Taba, carrying a Saladin-era fortress that was built to control the Gulf of Aqaba. The Fjord nearby is a sheltered bay with good snorkelling. From the coast road you can see Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia at once, which is a strange thing to stand in front of.
Drive up the coast road from Dahab or Nuweiba. Boat across to the island and around ninety minutes on the fortress, then the Fjord for lunch and snorkelling.
Send us the dates and how many people are travelling, by WhatsApp or the form on this page. We reply with a written itinerary and a fixed price, usually within a few hours. Confirming is a message, not a payment.
No. We ask for no deposit and take no payment to hold a date. Nothing is charged when you book and nothing is payable in advance - you settle with us in Egypt once the trip is running.
Tell us and we will change it, or cancel it, at no cost. There is no cancellation fee and no deadline to worry about, because nothing has been paid up front. If plans shift while you are already here, we will rearrange what we can on the day.
The tourist regions are heavily policed and we work in them daily. Your guide stays with you at every site. If you are travelling alone, tell us - we will match you with a guide accordingly.
Pairs well with
A submarine sinkhole, a village that never became a resort, and cushions on the beach.
A 02:00 start, 750 steps at the top, and the oldest working library in the world.
A narrow sandstone slot canyon, walked end to end, then lunch by the sea.
